Project: Cross Stitch Self Portrait
Medium/Style: Procreate (digital painting app)
Current Stage: Work-in-progress
What Inspired This Project: As I continue to learn how to use Procreate, I came across a "digital cross stitch" lesson. One of the first steps was to create a custom digital brush, and this is the first time I did so. Using other digital applications outside of Procreate, I designed a pattern for my digital cross stitch.
I used to cross-stitch with small kits involving needles and colorful embroidery floss when I was a kid. For this project, I've created a new-wave, digital format.
Next Step I Plan to Take: This is quite an extensive project; there are so many details to mark as I create a self-portrait. As it is meditative, I may work on it before I go to bed, when I'm waiting somewhere, or even when just listening to something I'm learning on YouTube. It would be nice to complete this before the end of this year; I've been working on this project since early June 2025! After it is complete, I'll share the results, and the very involved process of the project's design.
