Breath
As a child, I spent countless hours inside an oxygen tent, fighting for breaths most people never think about. Back then, my lungs felt like a curse. Today I see they were a teacher. Breath is not something that simply happens to us. It is a relationship, a quiet conversation between body and spirit that begins with our first inhale and ends with our last release. Every tradition seems to know this: the Sanskrit prana, the Hebrew ruach, the Greek pneuma all mean both breath and spirit. When life tightens around you, when the meeting runs long and the pressure builds, remember that the exhale is where peace lives. Slow it down. Let it be longer than the inhale. Feel your heart soften and your mind grow quiet. You don't need to go anywhere to come home to yourself. You only need to breathe.
Today, try this: three slow breaths before you open your inbox. Exhale longer than you inhale. Notice who you are on the other side.
