Bad days
So often we say we're having a "bad day," as if the day itself chose to work against us. But bad, wrong, and difficult are labels, not facts. They are the filter we place over what is simply happening. When the car won't start, the plan falls apart, or the body feels heavy, the moment itself is neutral; it is our resistance that turns it into suffering. What if, instead of fighting what is, you let it move through you like weather passing over the desert? Pause, breathe, and notice what remains: the breath in your lungs, the people who love you, the ground still holding you up. Gratitude for what is present softens the grip of what feels absent. And those inconveniences, the ones that stretch your patience and test your peace, may be the very teachers you've been asking for. Over time, this shift in perspective changes more than your day. It changes who you are becoming.
