Revitalizing the Group
Hey folks I know this group has perhaps not provided the support you were promised. I think part of the reason is that I have not been working on my own Book, and more focused on my mens work skool community. But I would love to see what everyone is up to on their own project, hear how its going, and if there is anysupport needed. We have some new members who havent shared their projects yet in the space. Allow me to get us going. I have a few projects on the go. First is a book, its called The Wildman: The Path of Two Kings. This might sound like a fantasy novel, but its actually a book my brother Manu and I are writing about our work in the Mens Work realm. We are weaving Mythology, Mysticism, and Mens Work together to paint the arc of maturation more men from boyhood into manhood, and from manhood into mentorhood. I've written over 60,000 words so far, completed 4 chapters and started 7 total. Each chapter focuses on a different stage and theme during maturation. We are following a mythological story as the main arc, and weaving imagery from several others, including Norse mythology, Celtic mythology, As well as many other cultures around the world. We also are introducing concepts from mystic teachings such as the Upanishads, Tibetan and Mahayana Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism, and others. There is a universal thread to myth which creates the tapestry of our lives, and by turning the tapestry over we can see all the connecting threads. That is what we are doing with this book. Its been a huge passion outlet for me over the past couple years as I come and go from working on it. Its helped me flush out some groundbreaking and original ideas for the work we do with men. And its also helped me organize my thoughts around the teachings I have recieved from other teachers to articulate and present them as I work with men. The first draft is still a long way from complete, and I have been focusing on other projects as a priority lately, including a video series on Emotional Anatomy. This is also a writing project as I am writing out the script for it before recording it. Another area of my professional life that I am finding it valuable to create some content around and organize my ideas and thoughts.

Bring Your Project Across the Finish Line
Sharing your drafts
When it comes to sharing your first draft with people, it can help you get much needed eyes on your project, get some validation for the unseen work youve put in, and get some valuable feedback as to what will help bring it into its best version. In this group I recommend sharing with specific people and asking for specific feedback, rather than posting openly in the group and asking for any feedback. Think about where your work is missing. Do your story telling skills need some work, is the plot missing something, are you need to develop your dialogue better etc. Think about the feedback you want and ask for it from someone in the group. It makes it easier for the reader to look for things to report on.

On Self Promotion
One of the rules that Skool suggests when making a community is "No Self Promotion". I removed that Rule, despite understanding its importance. Many skool communities are a place to connect around a subject, learn from each other, get supported. People coming in and promoting their business, their community, their services etc, gets messy and takes away from what skool is. It makes it just like every other social media platform. However I didn't want to create confusion, as you will be sharing about your projects and hopefully meeting people interested in reading your work. I think promoting your work here, especially as the community grows to the tens or hundreds of members, will actually support everyone. Seeing you or other members publish your book after months of being active here will be a source of inspiration. The more active you are, the more people will be invested in your work, and the more they will want to read it. The best practice here is to reveal your process, share your ideas, your goals, your vision, and get us all invested in your success so when you reach the point of publication, you already have fans.
