Hey everyone 🪱🌱
A warm welcome to all the new members joining the Worm Farming Community!
I’m thrilled to share that I’m currently in South Korea 🇰🇷, taking part in the 2025 Africa Saemaul Undong Training Program — an incredible initiative bringing together 27 leaders from South Africa, Lesotho, and Mozambique to learn from Korea’s world-renowned rural development model.
We arrived on October 26th, and for the next 80 hours, we’re diving deep into the Saemaul Undong (New Village Movement) — exploring how Korea built thriving rural communities through innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.
The best part? 😍
This program actually incorporates worm farming! We’ll be visiting a worm farm to see how Korea integrates vermiculture into sustainable agriculture and waste management. I can’t wait to see their systems, setups, and how they’ve scaled production while keeping everything eco-friendly and efficient.
Right now, it’s Day 3 in Suwon, and we’re covering topics like:
*The Saemaul Undong Model and its cooperative principles
*Economic development through rural innovation
*And going foward, a workshop on Action Plan Development, where I’ll be working on ideas to integrate worm farming into community development projects back home.
My mission from this program:
✅ Develop a customized Saemaul Undong model that includes worm farming as a key driver of rural growth
✅ Create projects that generate youth employment and sustainable income
✅ Deliver actionable plans that communities can implement immediately
This experience is a game-changer for our movement. I’ll keep you all updated after the worm farm visit and share practical insights we can apply to strengthen our own projects 🌍💪
