🌎 Building a Community Network
My goal is to make building a backyard wood-fired oven more approachable by sharing resources, collaborating on ideas, and developing techniques that simplify the construction process making it easier for anyone to build a backyard oven. While this community is based in the Southern United States, I hope we can grow "Build Networks" across the country. Imagine being able to connect with people nearby, helping one another build ovens, hosting neighborhood pizza parties, and create lasting traditions centered around cooking with fire, good food, and community. ❤️ 👋 We’d Love to Know You! Share something with the group: - 📸 If you have built an outdoor oven, share a photo of an oven you built or helped build - 📍 Where you're located (this helps us start to build local networks)  - 🔥 A oven photo or video you find inspiring

First Community "Build Lab" Seneca, South Carolina
For any members near Seneca, SC, you are welcome to join us for our first community “Build Lab” on July 18th at the The Seneca Treehouse Project! Build Labs are community gatherings where we test, research, and experiment with new ideas that can improve the oven-building process and make the process easier for others to build. For this first Build Lab, we'll be constructing a reusable form block set made from stabilized earth. If successful, this system would reduce the materials needed to build a 36-inch oven and eliminate the need to create the temporary sand form. That means sourcing less materials, less build energy, and a faster overall build. We'll be documenting the entire process so others in the community can replicate it, test it, improve it, and continue experimenting 🤜🤛 If you enjoy hands-on building, problem-solving, and helping develop better techniques for the wood-fired oven community, we'd love to have you join us!❤️

🔥 Welcome to the Wood-Fired Community! 🍕
If you enjoy cooking with fire, baking in a hand-built oven, and bringing people together to share a meal, this community is for you! ❤️ Hello! My name is James, and I'm passionate about building with natural materials. Over the years, I've discovered that one of the best ways to introduce people to the magic of building with natural materials is through the experience of creating a wood-fired earthen oven. An oven becomes much more than a place to cook, it becomes a reason to gather with friends, build an outdoor living space together, and share countless meals for years to come. 🔥 This community is dedicated to outdoor wood-fired ovens and the incredible food that can be prepared in them. Whether you're interested in building your first cob oven, looking for advice on sourcing materials, choosing the right oven design, or planning your first pizza gathering, you'll find support, inspiration, and resources here. 🙌 Together we'll explore many different types of outdoor ovens and wood-fired cooking systems, including: - Earthen Ovens - Cob Ovens  - Brick Masonry Ovens - Bread Ovens - Pizza Ovens - Barrel Ovens  - Tandoori Ovens - Open Firs Cooking  - Rocket Stoves  - Rocket Grills  - Cob BBQ - Portable Ovens - Outdoor kitchens and cooking spaces - Pizza Farm  My goal is to make building a backyard oven more approachable by sharing resources, documenting simple construction techniques, and encouraging hands-on building events. More than anything, I hope this community inspires people to gather around the fire. While we're based in the Southern United States, my vision is to help build local networks across the country where members can meet in person, help one another with oven builds, host community meals, and create lasting traditions centered around cooking with fire, craftsmanship, and food. 🤝❤️ 🔥 ❤️ Welcome to the community! 🍕
