🎁In the Bible, “spiritual gifts” are grace-given abilities the Holy Spirit gives believers to build up the church, serve others, and glorify Jesus (not to show off, control people, or prove you’re “more spiritual”).
These "spiritual" gifts are ones empowered by the Holy Spirit, given “as He wills,” meant for the common good (1 Corinthians 12).
🗝️They are not the same as natural talents (you can have both, but gifts are Spirit-empowered).
They are not the same as the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, etc.).
They include gifts like:
- wisdom, knowledge
- faith (special faith for a moment/need)
- healing, miracles
- prophecy
- discerning spirits
- tongues and interpretation of tongues
- helps, administration
- plus roles like apostles, prophets, teachers (1 Cor. 12:8–11, 28–30)
- serving
- teaching
- exhortation (encouragement/urging)
- giving
- leadership
- mercy (Romans 12:6–8)
(this is not an extensive list...)
