Gate 1 - Identifying the Friction
Gate 1 - Identifying the Friction
In this module we get right to the core. Most people don't need a big change they just need to know what the problem is and tackle that. Sometimes the answer is a big move, a change of house, a new relationship, or a million other things. Here in gate one we look at what is causing the feeling that your life is no longer working as you would like. We do this by looking at what the friction is. Everything stems from this friction so we address it early.

Gate Three - Your Starting Position
What This Gate Is (and Isn’t) This gate exists to help you see where you are before anything changes. Not as a judgement. Not as a verdict on past choices. And not as a demand for action. Many people arrive here already feeling a quiet pressure — the sense that something needs to shift. When that feeling has been around for a while, it’s tempting to rush toward solutions simply to relieve the discomfort of not knowing. This gate deliberately slows that moment down.

Case One - The Offer He Should Have Accepted
Case One - The Offer He Should Have Accepted
This is a case study, which is the first of ten parts exploring the friction that causes us to want to change. In this case a man receives the promotion he has been pushing for, but instead of being happy he sees his future in a different way - he sees a narrowing of options rather than a growing experience. At the end of the case study i would like it if you could comment what you would have done.

Case Two - Annie and the Quiet Anger
Case Two - Annie and the Quiet Anger
Case Two examines friction that hides behind visible success. Annie is advancing in her career, respected and rewarded, with no obvious crisis to justify reassessment. On the surface, she is doing exactly what capable, driven people are supposed to do. Yet the tension does not show up at work. It surfaces at home — in irritation, thinning patience, and a growing emotional distance that she initially explains as structural pressure. Nothing is collapsing, but something is tightening.

Case Three - Nathan and the Wrong Scorecard
Case Three - Nathan and the Wrong Scorecard
Case Three explores what happens when a capable, disciplined young man realises he has been chasing a scorecard he never consciously chose. Nathan has done everything “right” — worked hard, hit milestones, earned respect — yet the quiet dissatisfaction keeps building because the metric driving his life was inherited, not examined. This case invites you to notice where you might be performing well on someone else’s scoreboard while feeling increasingly misaligned.
