Who it's for:
Adults with pre-diabetes or elevated risk for type 2 diabetes.
Core components:
- Initial assessment: BMI, waist circumference, blood glucose history (if available).
- Weekly sessions for the first 6 months: 60 minute class on nutrition, activity, behavior change, and problem-solving.
- Personal coaching: You can add on one-on-one check-ins every 2 weeks to set tailored goals, troubleshoot barriers.
- Nutrition: Practical meal planning, portion control, label reading, and simple recipes emphasizing whole foods, fiber, and reduced added sugars.
- Physical activity plan: Gradual, achievable increase to 150 minutes/week of moderate activity plus strength-building guidance.
