I woke up inspired to take out Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and just read the first few lines that caught my eye and I was blown away at what came up!
"Everything fades so quickly, turns into legend, and soon oblivion covers it.
And those are the ones who shone. The rest- "unknown, unasked-for" a minute after death. What is "eternal" fame? Emptiness.
Then what should we work for?
Only this: proper understanding; unselfish action; truthful speech. A resolve to accept whatever happens as necessary and familiar, flowing like water from that same source and spring." -M.A.
Tell me what you think about this in the comments below, as I sit to meditate on this, Id love to hear from you and discuss the possible feelings this also arises in us.
