Today is a day of love and connection, embracing not only the love of another, but the love of self, the love of deity and Spirit as a whole.
Although yesterday would have been a perfect day to honor Freya, I felt sending this out today was better. Valentines day is often seen as a day for romance between two people. However, my time with honoring and working with Freya has taught me that, learning to love yourself is one of the greatest gifts.
She teaches us to be resilient when faced with loneliness and bold when embracing love. To be a fierce warrior for what you believe in, even if the rest of the world thinks your crazy for it.
Freya is a goddess of love, lust, sex, magick and Lady of the Vanir. Nature based deities who faught with the Aesir for centuries until peace was brokered.
She represents the energy of getting what you want, sometimes at any cost.
She lost love and more throughout her stories.
Yet she stands strong and powerful. Claiming half of the fallen warriors/dead in battle. It is her Valkyries that claim the first half, leaving Odin with what is left.
So today, if you are sharing Valentines day with someone, love them fiercely, and if you are not, ask Freya to find some wild love for yourself and embrace what comes up!!!!!
