Day 2 — Integrity: The Preserving Power of Salt
Today I’m looking at the small places in my life where integrity really shows up — not the big public moments, but the quiet ones no one sees. Salt preserves. Integrity does the same for a man’s character. 📖 Action: I’m choosing one small area to practice greater integrity today — keeping a promise, being fully present, admitting where I fell short… and doing it on purpose. 💬 Community Prompt: Share a moment when your integrity was tested — or when you saw someone you respect choose the harder, honest path. These are the choices that shape who we become.

Day 2 — Integrity: The Preserving Power of Salt
Day 1 — Foundation: Understanding Your Purpose
Before we talk discipline, leadership, or impact… we start with the heart. Today I’m slowing down and asking myself a simple but uncomfortable question: “Am I really living as salt and light… or just getting through the day?” 📖 Action: I’m reading Matthew 5:13–16 and journaling what this calling means to me personally — not the church version, not the polished version… the honest version. And I’m naming one area of my life where I know God is calling me to show up with more weight, more courage, more influence. 💬 Community Prompt: Share your first thoughts on what “Salt & Light” means to you — and name one personal value you want to strengthen this week. Let’s build this foundation together.

The Salt and Light Man: A Weekly Challenge
Challenge Overview This 7-day challenge is designed for men in the Skool community who aspire to embody the principles of "Salt and Light" in their daily lives. Drawing inspiration from biblical teachings and modern personal development, this challenge will guide participants through practical actions and reflective exercises to strengthen their character, influence their communities positively, and live with purpose. Goal: To cultivate men who are impactful, principled, and inspiring leaders in their homes, workplaces, and communities, reflecting the qualities of preserving good (salt) and illuminating truth (light). Core Principles of "Salt and Light" Salt (Preservation & Flavor) In ancient times, salt was crucial for preservation and flavoring food. Spiritually, being "salt" means: Preserving Goodness: Standing against moral decay, upholding ethical standards, and protecting what is right. - Adding Value/Flavor: Bringing positive influence, wisdom, and joy to interactions and environments. Making life better for those around you. - Purity & Integrity: Living a life of honesty and moral uprightness that resists corruption. Light (Guidance & Revelation) Light dispels darkness, provides guidance, and reveals truth. Spiritually, being "light" means: - Illuminating Truth: Living authentically, speaking truth with love, and exposing darkness through righteous actions. - Guiding Others: Being a role model, offering direction, and inspiring hope in a confused world. - Visibility & Impact: Not hiding one's positive influence but letting it shine for all to see, drawing others towards good. - Weekly Challenge Structure Each day will focus on a specific aspect of being "Salt and Light," combining reflection, practical action, and community engagement. Day 1: Foundation - Understanding Your Purpose (Salt & Light) - Theme: Self-reflection on personal values and mission. - Action: Read Matthew 5:13-16. Journal about what "Salt and Light" means to you personally and identify one area in your life where you feel called to be more impactful. - Community Prompt: Share your initial thoughts on the "Salt and Light" concept and one personal value you aim to strengthen this week.

Memorial Day 2026 — The Greatest Love
Today we pause to honor the men and women who laid down their lives so we could live in freedom. Scripture tells us: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13 Their sacrifice reflects the heart of Christ Himself — a love that gives, protects, and stands in the gap for others. As men of God, may we carry that same spirit into our own lives: - In our homes — protecting, serving, and leading with courage. - In our work — showing integrity, strength, and selflessness. - In our daily walk — choosing sacrifice over comfort, purpose over passivity. Today we remember. Today we honor. And today we commit to living with the same sacrificial love that points the world back to Jesus. Freedom is never free. Love always costs something.

Role Model
Scripture: "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." — 1 Corinthians 11:1 Thought: Discipleship is more caught than taught. You can say all the right things, but if your life contradicts your words, your kids will follow your life every time. That is because children are not just listening. They are studying. They are studying: What you do when you’re tired How you treat their mom What you run to when you’re stressed Whether God is truly central or just talked about You are forming their instincts, not just their information. And here’s the tension: that can feel overwhelming… until you realize God never called you to be perfect. He called you to be authentic and aligned. A man who pretends builds pressure. A man who leads, serves, and repents builds trust. When your kids see you confess sin, ask forgiveness, open the Word, and fight for joy, they learn what real faith looks like. Not polished. But persistent and faithful. A faithful life preaches a louder sermon than any words ever could. **Note: Granddads, this is still your assignment. Your grandchildren are watching how you finish. Whether you grow softer or stronger. Whether you coast or continue. **Note: Single men, this is your assignment as well. The church is full of young men who need spiritual fathers. Reflection: What is your life teaching your family right now? Call to Action: Model one thing today: humility, repentance, or devotion. Let them see it. Prayer: “Jesus, let my life reflect You. Where I fall short, give me the humility to own it and the courage to keep walking. Amen.”
