Scripture: "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." — 1 Corinthians 11:1
Thought: Discipleship is more caught than taught. You can say all the right things, but if your life contradicts your words, your kids will follow your life every time. That is because children are not just listening. They are studying.
They are studying:
What you do when you’re tired
How you treat their mom
What you run to when you’re stressed
Whether God is truly central or just talked about
You are forming their instincts, not just their information. And here’s the tension: that can feel overwhelming… until you realize God never called you to be perfect. He called you to be authentic and aligned.
A man who pretends builds pressure. A man who leads, serves, and repents builds trust. When your kids see you confess sin, ask forgiveness, open the Word, and fight for joy, they learn what real faith looks like.
Not polished. But persistent and faithful. A faithful life preaches a louder sermon than any words ever could.
**Note: Granddads, this is still your assignment. Your grandchildren are watching how you finish. Whether you grow softer or stronger. Whether you coast or continue.
**Note: Single men, this is your assignment as well. The church is full of young men who need spiritual fathers.
Reflection: What is your life teaching your family right now?
Call to Action: Model one thing today: humility, repentance, or devotion. Let them see it.
Prayer: “Jesus, let my life reflect You. Where I fall short, give me the humility to own it and the courage to keep walking. Amen.”
