Your First Step Matters Even If It’s Free 🌍

Hey everyone,

I want to share something real with you something I hope might light a spark for someone who’s feeling stuck, discouraged, or overwhelmed.

I was born and raised in the Caribbean. I speak English, French, and Spanish fluently but I now live in the Netherlands… and I don’t speak a word of Dutch.

Like many of you, I wear a lot of hats: I’m a husband, a father of three beautiful kids, and I work a full-time 9-to-5 job. Life is full. Life is demanding. And trying to build something new on top of all that? It’s not just hard it’s exhausting.

But I knew I had something to offer. The problem? No experience. No portfolio. No local network. And no idea how to break in.

So here’s what I did:I went out and looked for companies that spoke the languages I do speak. I made cold calls. I knocked on digital doors and real one's. And because I had nothing to show yet but everything to prove I offered to do my first project for free.

Why?Because I need that first win. That first chance. Not for money but for momentum.And honestly? If it Doesn't work out, at least i didn't anyone’s money while I was still learning.

To anyone out there struggling with language barriers, lack of experience, or just plain fear you’re not alone.Your background, your accent, your story they’re not weaknesses. They’re part of your strength.

Don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Start where you are. Give generously. Learn fiercely. And trust that your first “yes” is closer than you think.

We’re all building something.Keep your head up.Do your best.And never underestimate the power of showing up even if it’s for free at first.
