The faster you get, the less hourly pays you. That is the trap built into the model.
Walk through it.
A task that took you 4 hours when you started now takes you 1. On hourly, you just cut your own pay by 75 percent for the crime of getting better. The reward for skill is a smaller invoice.
Now price it as a package instead. Say a service is $750 (illustrative 2025 number). It takes you 4 hours. Land 20 clients on it and that is $15K a month. As you get faster, that 4 hours drops to 2, then 1. Your pay does not shrink. Your hourly rate inside the package quietly doubles, then triples.
Hourly caps your income at the hours in your day. Packages remove the cap and pay you for the result.
Same skill. Two opposite outcomes. The model you pick decides which one you get.
