1956 Harley 4 speed transmission rebuild
Watch me rebuild a 56 4 speed trans for my 1948 Pan/shovel hand shift. Ask questions and give insight. This is the first transmission rebuild I have ever done and I’m watching videos and learning along with you. I’m learning as I’m going. There’s more videos as you swipe right. The first and second video is my building the main shaft. Installing the bearing and race onto the shaft and putting the nut on getting it ready to go into the transmission box and into 4th gear Third and fourth video are me putting the 44 roller bearings around 4 th gear 5 th video is installing it in the case.

Where old bikes are talked about
Hi. I’m Steve. Retired military, artist and motorcycle enthusiast. I built this group for us to talk about vintage motorcycles. Riding, wrenching, events, swap meets. All of it. I finally own my first vintage motorcycle. 1948 Panhead. It’s a Pan/shovel motor in a late 60s frame but it’s mine and I will be doing routine maintenance as well and up keep and parts removal and the like. If you’d like to hang out and ask questions and talk about old bikes I’d love to have you. Now I know that everyone has their own choice to what they like for bikes and from whatever manufacturers, I don’t care. Bring your knowledge in, hangout and let’s chat. Maybe you’ll make a fan out of me and others about your favorite bike line. So no this isn’t restricted to just Harleys but let’s keep it in a specific era so let’s do any and all bikes before 1975. Yes I know some of the years of engines and designs ran longer in some platforms and that’s fine and I’m sure it’ll get talked about but let’s just keep it where it is. With that, let’s do some rules for the community. Don’t be a dick. Easy enough. Treat others how you want to be treated. If you’re an asshole than that’s how you’ll be treated. Simple enough. Come into the forum, say hi, tell me a little bit about yourself and why you’re here and maybe a photo of your bike or your favorite bike and we can go from there. I’m hoping this turns into a place where we can talk about vintage bikes, share our stories and adventures and learn a few things about bikes and riding and the community and about people and their lives and what makes it all so amazing. If you’d read this far I thank you. Please. Come into. Join and let’s see what we can make out of this.
