Generational traumas
Something we don’t realize about why a parent is emotionally distant or abusive is because they learned this from their own traumas experiences, and parents. They act this way because they do not want to be vulnerable so anyone else can hurt them. The best thing you can do as a person is distance yourself. Work on your own mental health and confidence. Break the cycles that continue through generations.

Using journaling is beneficial in PTSD. It is difficult yes. It does however make you face your fears. It allows you to really start exploring why things occur the way they do. It allows a full introspective view at your trauma and growth as you continue exploring. It starts with one simple question Name one event that triggered you today. How did it affect you?
