August Monthly Theme: Explore - Weekly Reflection 3
🟡 Before we dive in - the final group coaching session of the 30-Day Ethical Story Challenge is happening now. Join here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89714156669?pwd=9eKuXPQxHvg12ghVD74gqIA4WM7hmT.1 👋🏽 Now let's get into it. We're in the third week of our monthly theme, Explore: Before Approaching the Clients, and I hope you've had a chance to dig in, read the guide, and give some thought to the discussion questions. 🏁 The goal here is to show you the gaps, never to make you feel like you aren't doing enough. Remember that ethical storytelling is a journey and we're on it for the long haul. With that, here are the questions I'd love to hear from you on: 1️⃣ When have you felt pressure to just "get a story," any story, instead of the right one? 2️⃣ What did that teach you about what you actually need going forward? Share your thoughts in the comments; chances are you're not the only one who's gone through it, and your wisdom could help someone else! 🙌🏽

🔍 August 2026 Theme: Explore — Before Approaching the Clients ⬇️
👋🏽 Hey folks, welcome to this month's theme! Every month, we dig into one piece of the EquaStory® Framework together. This month, we're in Explore, specifically, everything that happens before you even approach a story owner. If you're new here, this post lays out the theme, walks through a few common scenarios you might recognize, and closes with a place to jump into the conversation. 🙌🏽 Each Wednesday this month, I'll drop a new discussion question tied to this theme, so keep an eye out and join in the discussion. No pressure to have this all figured out. That's what we're here for. Read the attached PDF and then come back to take your next action! ✅ YOUR NEXT ACTION: BRING IT TO THE COMMUNITY Wherever you're stuck this month, whether it's access, resistance, or simply too many options, the goal isn't to push through on your own. Bring it to the community. Someone here has likely faced the exact thing you're facing now. ➡️ What does this month's theme bring up for you? Drop a comment below, and keep an eye out for a new discussion question each Wednesday this month. 👇🏽

💭 Think of someone in your organization who could help you get closer to a story owner, whether that's program staff, a colleague, or a client themselves. 🤝 What's one small step you could take this week to build that relationship?

Which of the four sticking points from this month's theme is the one you're facing right now? What's kept you stuck there, or how are you working through it? 1️⃣ Working through indirect access 2️⃣ ONLY having indirect access (without the chance to develop direct connections with clients) 3️⃣ Resistance from colleagues close to the clients 4️⃣ Having too many options for stories Share your thoughts below. 🙌🏽 If you have a direct question for me, you can tag me as well. The monthly theme reading is attached for you to review.
