Building In Public

I was a creative director for over 13 years at the largest church in San Diego.

My time ended there exactly a year ago, and it has been a wild journey.

I got hired quickly by a friend who is a Christian influencer with 8M followers online. I now create content and AI systems for him. I manage content for another creator with 5M followers, and I work as a marketing and creative director for a nonprofit on the East Coast. In the free time I have, I run an agency where I help local businesses, and I’m constantly looking for new things to learn and explore.

I’m looking for a community of people who are interested in learning, building, and growing. Before I go out and build my own thing, I want to see if there are already communities out there that fit what I’m looking for. I’ve tried a few Facebook groups, but most of them feel really negative, and people seem to get stuck in the weeds instead of actually building. I like following creators like Nate B. Jones, Sabrina Ramonov, and Marcin because of how clearly they communicate and show practical examples. Their approach is basically, “Here is a thing. Now go apply it to your world.” That’s the kind of environment I’m looking for. Practical, creative, curious, and focused on actually applying what we’re learning.
