To qualify to compete in UIPM Category A and sometimes UIPM Category B events there is a Selection Criteria to follow which outlines which events count towards ranking points, how many athletes may be selected, when events might be contested, and other important information. Pentathlon is a unique sport where, unlike many others, the National Federation (USAPM) typically needs to register athletes for international competitions. This is because these events limit the number of participants allowed per country. To better understand the types of events available and the requirements for participation, please review this course thoroughly.
