Regulating my nervous system for the first time in my life.
What I left out of that quote but is in the video on my YouTube channel is ... I am regulating my nervous system for the first time in my life. I was 3 years old when my foundation was cracked. I'm 46 knowing what this feels like for the first time. I want other woman to have hope. To know I understand what it's like to live in what feels like a disconnection from your body and in chaos with your thoughts. The quote shared is a compilation from my YouTube video called, Let Me Reintroduce Myself. To clarify... From my experience when you continue to disconnect from yourself, you internalize. I want to add to that a bit and say, you CAN get smaller. For some people, rather than getting smaller, there can be an outward reaching--essentially doing things that are really far from being aligned with you, your soul, your highest self--that is ultimately hurting you and/or the relationships around you. So rather than hurting mostly yourself (by getting smaller), there can be a chaotic response that might feel tornado-like to the people you come in contact with. To be fair, I was very much a mixture of both for most of my life. But by the time I really broke and recognized that I had no option but to untangle what had become of me and my life, I had completely lost myself and was living heavily in isolation. It does take time and patience but also curiosity and being gentle with yourself. 🫶 In this moment, Jen Untangled Me with Jen is not a replacement for therapy or professional mental health support. I am certified through IIN in Health Coaching and Mindful Eating, certified through Rouxbe in Plant-Based Cooking and spent 10 years as a licensed massage therapist --my signature massage when I left out was a blending of intentional medium/firm pressure, trigger point therapy, cranial sacral, and sports massage techniques. A chef’s kiss combo for my clients! Untangled Me was created for women seeking community while learning to slow down, bring awareness to the mind and body's automatic responses, regulate the nervous system, become more present on the daily and bring joy back.

Welcome ladies!
Hello and welcome to the Untangled Me with Jen Community. Introduce yourself, if you would like. Share something interesting about you. A favorite cartoon from your childhood, a song that has great meaning to you, an artist or concert you saw that sent the most exhilarating chills all through your body, a skill you have instinctually or have learned and are proud of. I am planning a community circle for Thursday, June 4 at 1:30pm eastern standard time. --> The community circle is a part of the Untangled Me with Jen membership. Deeper reflections and live sessions allow for connection, in a ladies-based community, and a safe space to learn to untangle survival patterns. I will be in & out of here updating so stay tuned for more details. I look forward to meeting you. :) Jen
