🪞 UnShaming Reflections
Here's something most of us were never taught: your feelings are intelligent.
Not just valid. Not just okay to have. Actually intelligent. They carry information about what's happening in your life that your thinking mind often misses or overrides.
Fear says: "There's something here that needs my attention." Hurt says: "Something happened that actually mattered." Nervousness says: "There's something in this environment I've learned isn't safe." Pride says: "I'm in touch with something real about who I am."
But most of us try to think our way out of our feelings. We analyze them. We explain them. We rationalize them into something more manageable. And in the process, we miss the very intelligence they were trying to bring forward.
Because the intelligence of a feeling doesn't live in its label. It lives in its experience. In the body. In the sensation. In what happens when you stop explaining and start feeling.
This week's reflection:
Think of a feeling that's been present for you lately. Instead of asking "Why do I feel this way?" or "How do I make this stop?", try asking the feeling directly: "What are you here to tell me? What do you need me to know?" Don't think your way to the answer. Feel your way to it. What does the feeling say when you actually let it speak?
Your feelings have been trying to tell you something. This is your chance to listen in a radically different way.
