I'm thinking about using something like this to reach out to a billion dollar game ip:
Subject: Exciting Idea — ESO Cinematic Films for Players
Hi Gina,
I hope you’re doing well! My name’s Jason Smith and I run Fanfare Passion Projects, where I create cinematic machinima films inside ESO. Recently some players have asked if I could make custom films starring their characters — and I think it could be something really special for the ESO community.
Imagine guildmates or long-time players getting to see their own characters brought to life in a cinematic short film — not just playing the game, but starring in a story set in Tamriel. I think it would be an incredible way to celebrate the fan base, give them a new way to connect with their characters, and highlight how deeply immersive ESO’s world already is. Done right, it could create buzz, spotlight ESO’s storytelling power, and generate the kind of community excitement that keeps people talking.
Because it would have to involve charging a fee if I am to do a full blown production, I want to make sure I do this the right way with ZOS. No mods or asset extractions — just pure in-game footage, direction, and editing. With permission, I’d also love to share some of these films publicly as portfolio pieces, always with clear credit and disclaimers.
Does ZOS have a process for granting permission or licensing something like this? If so, could you point me toward the right person or department? I’d love to keep this fully above board and hopefully turn it into something that makes the ESO community even more excited about the game.
