Chosen by Adam Davis
God didn’t call animals to fulfill the law. No, he sent his son, his only son, Jesus, as the perfect Lamb of God, to fulfill the old law. He sent him in the form of a man. From the foundations of the world, God chose you as an adopted son, or daughter of his royal lineage. It’s your choice, whether you accept or reject that offer. It’s not one to take lightly, for it comes with some service responsibility. But knowing he has made available a way to eternal life with him, gives us tremendous peace. We are chosen not just for salvation, if we except it and receive it, but also for a life of being overcomer’s and conquerors of this world. There are many doctrines on this topic, but the essential truth is that God said you and I are worth sending his best, his son, Jesus, to redeem us, if we would only choose to accept it, and leave it with the power of his spirit in us. You’ve been chosen. Who will you choose? Heavenly father, thank you for choosing me. Today, I want to respond to your demonstration of love to me by daily surrendering myself as a living sacrifice. My choice to follow you is a direct response of your love influencing my life. Amen. Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it. First, Chronicles, 28:10
I Still Battle - Lead the Way
Here’s the reality. I still battle. I have challenges. Mountains some could not fathom. My challenges are mostly self-inflicted. Why? There was a time I let fear lead the way. It was the driving force in my decision making. Fear. Panic. Scarcity. These were rooted in lack of trusting in God and trusting in my own abilities. But I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve learned to be content in abundance and need. I say that to say this: I battle, but I still keep going. Not on my own strength. Not in my own power. But by the Spirit of God who sustains me. My greatest fear is coming across as self-righteous. I know my sin is no better than any other. I’m a wretch but for Jesus. I know I have work to do and I am a work in progress. I may be spearheading a movement, but I’m always desperate for Jesus in every moment of my life. It is my hope that my vulnerability will give someone else the courage to rip the bandaid off their problems and deal with them! Find healing. Find freedom. Live Unconquered!
