Welcome to the Ultimate Author Collective. Introduce yourself.
I'll start. I'm Joseph Hinson, I've been doing this author marketing thing since 2008. Worked with over 200 authors, not all of them best-sellers. I've realized my purpose is to help people get what they want out of life. I've realized that it's now time to take my own advice and teach everything I know. I am not an author, but I do write. I have a personal introspective Substack about my perspective, sprituality and stories from the road at https://josephhinson.substack.com. I might work all of that into a book at some point, but right now this Out:think, and this community is my focus. My personal website is at https://josephhinson.com (I built this during the Ultimate Author Platform course) and Out:think's site is at https://outthink.co. This place is built on the premise that I don't know everything, so I'm looking forward to learning from you guys. My expertise is in building systems around authors to build a following. I will be sharing strategies for author marketing, and specific tactics around systems and tools to make things easier for authors to focus on what they're best at. Right now, the biggest need I have is getting the word out about this community so we can get more authors here. I also need you all to let me know what you need so I can work on building it. If you're an author please share about the book you're working on. If fiction, what is the premise, if non-fiction, what's the idea?
A Question for Authors
Every author’s journey is different. What has been the most rewarding part of your writing journey so far?

Write Like the Author You’re Becoming
There’s a future version of you who has already published the book. What habits does that version have? What discipline? What mindset? Sometimes growth begins when we act in alignment before the evidence shows up. What would change if you showed up today as your next-level author self?
Fake it til you make it.
Self doubt is real. Imposter syndrome is real. Sometimes just knowing you're not alone is helpful. I know I feel like a fraud most of the time. Do it anyway. As I'm out here telling everyone to join the collective, I'm having to remember that it's ok that I feel like an imposter, and that's normal. It's been the most consistent bit of feedback I've received from clients...that they're afraid. Just a word of encouragement for you guys this Wednesday. It's ok to feel scared. Do it anyway.
