I honestly thought I had done a pretty good job recently clearing storage on my MacBook to make more space for audio files, video exports, AI apps, downloads, and content creation. Apparently not.
Two weeks later and I’m already running into storage issues again.
So I’m genuinely curious what other creators are doing that is simple, sensible, and sustainable long term.
A few things I’ve been wondering about:
- Do you keep old videos or delete them?
- Do you use external drives, cloud storage, or both?
- What files are actually worth keeping long term?
- Do platforms like Hypernatural keep exported videos stored long term, or should we assume we need our own backup systems?
- Are people archiving older content for reposting later across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.?
I’ve found it useful keeping older videos because I can repurpose or repost content later across different platforms. But video exports, duplicate versions, AI assets, downloads, and storage folders start adding up very quickly.
Would genuinely appreciate any simple workflows, storage systems, or advice from creators who feel like they’ve figured this part out reasonably well.
