Evolving from Free Products to Monetary Compensation

Hi team;

As you know, I am in the relatively small niche of Parrot keeping and I am looking to evolve from getting free products in exchange for dedicated Youtube videos or mentions to actually monetary compensation. I have had a few sponsorships in the past (from my own outreach) but I wonder what would be the best way to make the jump to requesting payment since I have been reaching out to brands directly to collaborate. Is it as simple as pitching the client and sending your rates?
