From 9/11 to today — the spirit of service never leaves you.

I was only 20 years old, an HT3 from Minnesota, when the towers fell. We were recalled to the USS Leyte Gulf, got underway half-crewed, and soon stood watch near Ground Zero. Not long after, we loaded up arms and deployed with the USS Theodore Roosevelt Battle Group to protect our freedoms — the same freedoms still under attack today.

That day shaped me forever.

Now, 27 years later — fibromyalgia, broken bones, bad back and all — I’d still serve if my country called. But service doesn’t always mean wearing the uniform. Today, I serve by helping families build financial security and peace of mind — because financial stability = mental stability = peace of mind.

And tragically, just yesterday with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we were reminded that the fight for freedom isn’t just overseas — it’s here at home too.
