I’ve had a lot of businesses over the last 20 years and would call myself a serial entrepreneur. The thing is that I really wasn’t tho. I was more of a serial freelancer.
Being a freelancer you trade your time for money.
Being an entrepreneur you delegate and grow based on other resources. And your own of course.
The point is that I’ve learned a few things I wanted to share.
- Consistency wins. It’s all about showing up no matter who you are or what you’re doing. Social media, show up. Ads. Show up. Making new products/refining your product, do it all the time. Learning a new skill, any skill, practice it. You gotta show up every day for years before it works.
2. It’s going to take longer than you think. It just will. Whatever your timeline for success, it’s longer. Markets change. Buyers change. You change. Life happens. Expect to be in this for the long haul.
3. Don’t start over. During this long time you’ll be tempted to restart. Or reiterate. Or even jump from one biz to another thinking it’ll be better. It won’t. You’ll have the same issues because you never actually solved the problem. Just stick with it. You can do it.
I hope this helps someone. Whatever your plan, whatever your goal, know I’m here cheering you on. I’m not where I want to be either so let’s build something amazing.
