Try this before you book: open the date grid, look at the price graph, and turn on tracking for your route. If your dates are flexible, use the Explore map or search nearby airports. Then open the actual fare terms with the airline before paying. A low alert price can still be a poor fit if the schedule or baggage rules are wrong. My favorite workflow starts broad and then narrows down. Search your home airport and destination, look at the date grid for cheaper combinations, and use the price graph to see whether shifting a week changes the picture. If another airport appears cheaper, add the drive, parking, and time. Finally, click through to the airline and confirm the fare class. A price alert is a tool for watching the market; it doesn't tell you whether the fare's restrictions fit your life. Try one search from an airport you normally ignore. If it saves $100 but adds parking, gas, and an extra hour each way, you may stay with your home airport. If it saves $500 for a group, the drive might be worthwhile. Screenshot the final itinerary and costs before deciding. Google Flights is great for spotting possibilities; the airline checkout page is where you confirm what you are buying. 🏨 Another Horrible Travel Experience! 😩🚨
This weekend, I took a road trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to attend a friend's wedding. 💍🥂 Unfortunately, what should have been a simple overnight hotel stay turned into an absolute nightmare! I booked a room at a 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻. Now, I'm a loyal Hilton customer. I've stayed at plenty of their properties over the years, and I generally know what to expect from the brand. So, I made one BIG mistake... 🚩 𝗜 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚! I figured, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘢 𝘏𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘯. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦? Well... I found out pretty quickly. 🤦‍♀️ 🏚️ Red Flag #1: The Room Was DISGUSTING!When I arrived, the hotel looked like it was in the middle of a construction zone. 🚧 But things got MUCH worse when I walked into my room. 🤢 The musty, moldy smell hit me IMMEDIATELY. I walked into the bathroom and noticed: 🚩 Wallpaper peeling off the walls 🚩 What appeared to be mold growing around the shower 🚩 Water stains on the ceiling 🚩 A damp, neglected feeling throughout the room And mind you... 💸 𝗜 𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗗 $𝟭𝟳𝟱 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧! I immediately went back to the front desk and asked to switch rooms. They told me they didn't have another king room available, only a room with two beds. At that point, I didn't care about the bed situation. 𝗜 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗔 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠! 😤 They agreed to move me and said they would adjust the price. The second room looked better at first glance, but I was already running late for the wedding. So I dropped my bag off and headed out without doing a thorough inspection. 🚗 Red Flag #2: ZERO Parking Spaces Available!Fast-forward to around 𝟭𝟭 𝗣𝗠. 🌙 I returned to the hotel, exhausted and ready to call it a night. Except there was ONE BIG PROBLEM... 🚨 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗡'𝗧 𝗔 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘! Not one! I went inside to ask the front desk what I was supposed to do. The employee's initial suggestion? "𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁." 😳 Excuse me?! After I expressed my frustration, he offered to move his personal vehicle so I could take his parking space.

NYC Surprised us!
We spent one week in NYC and had a blast! And my wife couldn’t have picked a better week! We missed the rain by one day so that was cool. As soon as we got home rain came in and never left! What surprised us the most was how safe we felt, even at night walking the streets! Granted we were up near Central Park, but we walked everywhere during the day! The subways were safe too! What we noticed was the makeup of people on the subways, mostly business people and families! We did splurge our first night and stayed in a fancy hotel and got spoiled to death! I don’t know if we have ever been in a nicer hotel as far as service and views! We did a lot of stuff we always wanted to and it was the first time spent in NYc outside of for work! Highlights: walking the Brooklyn Bridge, walking the Highline, Chelsea Market, St. Patrick’s Cathwdral, Grand Central Station, seeing more of Central Park, pizza! Seeing the Louie Vuitton building that looked like a giant piece of luggage! Sure we missed some things and just another excuse to go back!

✈️ United Airlines is Frustrating
✈️ United Airlines Has a Frustrating Payment Limitation That Travelers Should Know About! 😤💳I just booked a flight with United Airlines, and I discovered a couple of annoying limitations when trying to use my travel vouchers. If you have United travel credits or vouchers sitting in your account, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺! 🚫 Limitation #1: You Can't Combine Vouchers With Alternative Checkout Methods United offers several convenient checkout options, including: 💳 𝗣𝗮𝘇𝗲 – A digital wallet supported by participating banks 🍎 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘆 – Pay using your saved cards 🔵 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗣𝗮𝗹 – Check out using your PayPal account But here's the catch... When you apply a United travel voucher, these alternative checkout options may no longer be available for the remaining balance. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. So even if your credit card is already connected to one of these digital wallets, you can't necessarily use that checkout method alongside your voucher. This is especially frustrating if your card issuer is offering bonus rewards for using a particular digital wallet! 🚫 Limitation #2: You Can't Combine Travel Vouchers With Airline Miles...Let's say you have: ✈️ $300 in United travel credits 🎟️ 20,000 United MileagePlus miles 💰 A flight that costs $500 You might think you could apply your $300 voucher, use your miles toward the remaining balance, and pay any difference. 𝗡𝗼𝗽𝗲! United generally requires you to choose between using travel credits toward a cash booking OR redeeming miles for an award ticket. You can't simply stack both payment types together on the same ticket. And that means travelers who have accumulated both credits and miles don't have the flexibility to combine them to offset the cost of a flight. 💡 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗽 Before you book your next United flight, compare your payment options! ✅ Check whether using your voucher is more valuable than redeeming miles.

The Best Day to Book Flights Is a Myth
If you're waiting for Tuesday at exactly 2 p.m., you may be waiting for a pattern that doesn't exist for your route. Search several dates, compare nearby airports, turn on a price alert, and decide what price you would happily pay. Then book when the itinerary fits your budget. Flexible dates often matter more than a magic booking day. Prices move for many reasons: demand, route, season, inventory and how flexible your dates are. A better routine is to search your target weekend, shift the departure and return by a day, and compare the total with bags included. Set an alert for the route and give yourself a decision price. If the fare reaches that price and the schedule works, you can book with confidence instead of waiting for a social media 'secret' that might not apply to your trip. Also separate 'when to book' from 'when to fly.' Flying a different day can change the fare dramatically, while refreshing the same Tuesday departure every hour usually doesn't change your flexibility. If your schedule is fixed, set a realistic budget and watch a few weeks of prices. If it isn't, test several departures and nearby airports. A repeatable method beats a one-size-fits-all calendar claim. Have you ever changed your travel date by one day and saved a surprising amount?
