Every volunteer starts with the same intention: to help. Very few of us expect that one act of compassion will grow into coordinating colonies, answering endless messages, paying out of pocket, transporting cats, finding fosters, or becoming the person everyone calls. Yet, for many of us, that's exactly what happened. It's about recognizing the journey we've all been on. Looking back, what responsibility did you never expect to become "your job," and how did it happen? Share your story in the comments. Then take a few minutes to read another member's story and leave them a supportive reply. You may discover that your experience isn't unique—and neither is theirs.
