Weekly Transportation Updates
I'm going to start doing weekly briefings from now on. I'd like some input from our community on topics we should cover. Here is what they will look like.
Weekly transportation briefing:
The big compliance change is FMCSA’s final rule extending qualifying regional emergency relief from 14 to 30 days. That does not make every load emergency assistance.
The Nebraska and Oregon extensions shown on FMCSA’s page reached their listed October 11 expiration. Verify the actual declaration before carrying yesterday’s assumption into today.
Fuel data remains elevated, but a national average does not replace lane-level math or contract terms.
An SMS prioritization symbol is not a complete carrier decision or a federal safety rating.
Next week brings Teen Driver Safety Week and School Bus Safety Week. Dispatchers can prepare now with realistic routes, appointment windows, and safety-first communication.
Which topic should become our next scenario?
