Our summer internship program, Tackling Tech, has empowered 100+ high school interns over three years – with 100% gaining HTML/CSS skills and improvement in CompSci competency. About Tackling Tech – New Orleans We're bringing Tackling Tech to New Orleans for the first time in Summer 2026. This 2-week, Monday–Friday immersive program (9am–1pm daily) serves rising high school juniors and seniors in a fast-paced, real-world learning environment. Students build personal portfolio websites, work with Microsoft 365 tools, explore machine learning concepts, and deliver a group capstone presentation to industry partners and program leadership – including Justin Reid himself. The Role We are seeking an energetic, mission-driven Tech Instructor to lead daily instruction across our core learning pillars: web development, Microsoft tools, AI & machine learning fundamentals, data analysis, and professional development. You will be the primary classroom presence for up to 15 student interns, supported by a broader program team. The New Orleans cohort runs on an intensive 10-day schedule, so the ideal candidate thrives in an accelerated environment and knows how to keep teenagers engaged, challenged, and inspired. What You'll Teach ● HTML & CSS – personal website construction ● Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, OneDrive, Forms, Copilot, PowerPoint) ● JavaScript fundamentals – contact forms and interactive pages ● Excel data collection, charting, and analysis ● Basic machine learning concepts and linear regression modeling ● AI Prompting 101 ● Professional development: LinkedIn profiles, presentation skills, and workplace
