Categories
I think the current categories are missing places for the content people actually post every day. A good community makes members think, "Where should I post this?" and the answer should be obvious.
Here's how I'd organize it.
Core Member Categories (Everyone)
  • 💬 General – Chess discussions, questions, opinions.
  • 🗣️ Debates – People arguing about chess.
  • 🏆 Accomplishments – Rating milestones, titles, personal bests.
  • 🎮 Games – Share wins, draws, losses, interesting games, game analysis requests.
  • 🤔 Puzzles – Tactical puzzles, "White to move", studies, puzzle discussions.
  • 📚 Learning – Improvement advice, books, courses, opening questions, endgames.
  • ♟️ Openings – Opening discussions and repertoire advice.
  • 🧠 Strategy – Positional ideas, middlegames, pawn structures, planning.
  • 😂 Memes – Self-explanatory.
  • 🎨 Creations – Chess art, boards, edits, tier lists, videos, thumbnails.
  • ❓ Help – "Why was this a blunder?", "How do I improve?", engine questions.
  • 🌍 Non-Chess – Off-topic conversations.
