Welcome to the club none of us asked to join.
This is a space for breast cancer survivors (and friends) who’ve been through the surgeries, the scars, the chemo, the hot flushes (flashes for our US sisters) — and came out the other side with stories, strength and a slightly darker sense of humour.
My name is Carolyn and in 2013 I got the news that none of us expects - you have cancer. I had a mastectomy with an immediate diep flap reconstruction. I know the fear, the pain, the weird hospital gowns, the drains (oh god, the drains!) the body changes, and most importantly - the moment you realise you’re stronger than you ever imagined you would need to be.
This is not a pity party. It’s a power circle.
Share honestly. Laugh loudly. Support fiercely.
Scars welcome. Humour encouraged. Attitude required.
