Aquaponics Shop over Pond
Just stumbled across this gem while sorting files for a client. In a file search for aquaponics this related project file popped up, which I haven't seen sense 2021! I designed this to suspend the greenhouse just slightly over the water of our large pond on our 12.5acre property. The idea was to include a wrap around deck that was completely suspended over the water. The greenhouse would be Passive Solar in design, but function strictly through the water in the pond, through my own approach to aquaculture. From wicking beds and tilted gravity fed growing tubes, to fish in the pond and zero fertilizer inputs, The philosophy here was that the pond could become the source of life, and the water from it could supply all the nutrients and bioavailable nutrients the shop could fit. The back half of the shop had 1 single wall that basically split the structure in half, separating the greenhouse from living quarters, where my family would live while we built a more permanent set up. I've always had an eye for greenhouses coming off the house itself. When the resources align, our house ITSELF will be a greenhouse! 😂 Complete with Lemon Trees Bananas Mango and other citrus of all kinds. fun to find this today.

Feature of the Week! - Permaculture Design: Betitas Haven
🌿 Introducing Betitas Haven: A Showcase in Sustainable Design We’re thrilled to present this week's feature, Betitas Haven—a stunning permaculture design that exemplifies the potential of creating a fully sustainable, self-sufficient haven. Designed by Jamon and Rianna Mysliwiec, this 2.5-acre project in the Mediterranean hills of Southern California is a masterclass in turning vision into reality. 🌟 Key Highlights of Betitas Haven: 1. Mediterranean Lemon & Olive Guild 2. Water Management System 3. Terraced Vineyard 4. Edible Aquaponics Pond and Food Forest 🔍 Why This Matters: Betitas Haven is not just a design; it’s a living blueprint for what’s possible when we align our efforts with nature’s principles. This project is a testament to the transformative power of permaculture, showing how we can build thriving, resilient communities that are in harmony with the environment. 🌱 Get Your Own Design: Inspired by Betitas Haven? The Haven Initiative offers you the opportunity to bring these same principles to your own property. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to enhance your existing space, our team is here to help you create a haven that supports your family and the environment. 📸 Images Shared: The images attached here showcase the intricate details of Betitas Haven’s design. This design was a personal project by me (Jamon Mysliwiec) for a family in Orange County California. From the layered guilds to the water systems, these visuals highlight the beauty and functionality a the well-designed permaculture site. Let’s continue to grow. We're on a mission to make every home a haven! 🌍
