I've worked for myself for more than 20 years in the horse industry, mainly training and coaching riders, and managing barns. I often look back at how far I've come - as a business owner, there are so many lessons I learned the hard way that I know I really didn't need to.
While I had (and still have) a tribe of people supporting the work I bring forward to the world, I was very much lacking in guidance and mentorship in the growing the tools we all need behind the scenes to truly thrive in the horse business. Professionals in the horse industry are siloed - we have our networks, but in many aspects they're generally small and hyper-local to our chosen discipline or region. And who's talking about best business practices?? Yet I hear about so many of us in the industry stuck in hard times or living the consequences of bad business decisions.
My vision with this group is to create a space for conversation, camaraderie and mentorship. Let's lift each other up and help one another grow!
