Before You Ask for More… Ask Yourself This Question
I’ve been reflecting on something that came to me last week, and I’d like to share it.
Sometimes we pray or ask for all kinds of blessings, but we rarely pause to think about the cost and responsibility that come with them. For example, as women, we might dream of marrying the most handsome and wealthy man—but are we ready to handle the attention he’ll attract from countless other women? We might desire to own a multi-million-dollar business—but are we truly prepared for the weight, pressure, and responsibility that follow?
This shift in perspective has completely changed the way I ask for blessings. Instead of asking for “more,” I’ve started asking for discipline, focus, consistency, stamina, long-suffering, and the ability to keep my joy even in tough seasons.
I used to get frustrated when challenges came my way. But now, I see them as training and preparation. Because if I can’t handle the problems that come with a $100K business, how could I possibly have the stamina to manage the challenges of a million-dollar business?
Have you ever received something you prayed for—only to realize you weren’t ready for it? Share your experience
