Today I got a diagnosis…
Today was the day I got my ADHD diagnosis, the drive home was sobering to say the least! A lot of the struggles I faced as a boy, the addictions, the fights, the mood swings, the hurt, the happiness, knowing that I’ve always been different.
It’s taken me 29 years to get some closure with people just telling me “you’re fine” and we’re still not actually there yet, The doctor told me all my scores pointed towards an additional autism diagnosis so they’re booking me in for that aswell.
Does it change anything? No.
Will it help me to understand? Maybe.
Do I feel different? No.
If anything a little frustrated that it’s taken a lifetime of struggle for people to listen, but we learn we live, we love and we forget.
