Same Lynne, Two Communities
Honestly, Ask Lynne is a career-long dream come true for me. I graduated from nursing college in 1994 and worked as a nurse until 2010. After that, I spent 10 years as a medical transcriptionist.
As a nurse, I spent time in palliative home care, and I answered so many questions the doctors should have explained better. When I later worked for a neuropsychiatrist, it was the same story. I was the nurse and office manager, and people would call in constantly asking, "What did Dr. So-and-so mean by that?" It never stopped.
Today, in 2026, people are turning to the Internet and AI to answer their medical questions, and honestly, that's even more concerning than doctors who don't explain things well. AI has no place in anyone's healthcare.
Ask Lynne: Health Educator breaks apart the mystery of medical language. We talk about health issues in plain language, and about the questions worth asking your doctor. The classroom is full of health literacy options, tools and learning for things like managing a chronic illness.
It was Ask Lynne that led me to The Halls. 🌿 Healthcare is changing, and it's important that practitioners, and the rest of us, keep up with it.
Learning to advocate for yourself might be the biggest thing you can do to ensure effective healthcare.
