Emotionally, I was 14 Years Old
Getting sober forced me to face something uncomfortable:
I had spent so many years numbing discomfort that I never learned how to emotionally mature through it.
Stress? Drink.
Anxiety? Drink.
Awkwardness? Drink.
Heartbreak? Drink.
Celebration? Drink.
So when I got sober…
I had adult responsibilities with teenage emotional coping skills.
A huge part of recovery became learning how to:
- regulate emotions
- communicate better
- handle discomfort
- socialize confidently
- become someone I actually respected
That’s the part of sobriety almost nobody prepared me for.
It’s also a huge reason I built Zero Proof Social.
