🔥 New piece out! — The Parasympathetic Theory of Thermic Bathing 🔥
Hey everyone! I just published an article that’s close to the heart of how I think about why heat actually heals — and I’d love to hear what this community thinks. 👉 The Parasympathetic Theory of Thermic BathingIn short: heat only becomes regenerative when the nervous system feels safe enough to let go. It’s not about hotter or longer — it’s about restful surrender into the heat. I explore how traditions from sweat lodges to onsen all tap into this same pathway, and why safety is the real medicine of thermic practice. Read here: https://thermaculture.substack.com/p/the-parasympathetic-theory-of-thermic Would love to get your thoughts and reflections — especially from folks who’ve witnessed the difference between heat as challenge vs. heat as restoration. Let’s discuss! 🧖‍♂️💬

Welcome! Introduce yourself + share a pict of your sauna glow
Let’s get to know each other! You can use this format: Hey, I’m from ____________. It had been _____ days/hours since my last sauna, steam or cold plunge. I’ll go first… Hey I’m John from Minnesota (the sauna capital of North America 🤘). Bless me father for it has been A WEEK since my last sauna! (But less than 24 hours since my last cold plunge… spending the summer in Arizona getting into the cold side of contrast therapy like never before 🧊)! Here’s a pict of me and my besties glowed up after steaming at Lifetime in Phoenix last week…

Thermaculture 101 SNEAK PEAK
Hey Thermacators! I just added a FREE sneak peak of the hot new Thermaculture 101 content to the Classroom section 👆 I'm super excited about how the content is coming together... check it out and tell me if you agree with my claim that Thermaculture can help you transform your sauna habit into a wellness practice that’s easier and more effective than yoga, meditation, or microdosing! Extra credit points for the first person to complete all the homework (remember to mark each section as "done" ; )

Hearth in Traverse City
Sat on the bench at Hearth in TC a couple days ago! Good heat, cool people, and was my first time using one a them fancy-schmancy cold plunges. There’s another sauna right on the bay that I want to check out next time I’m there, too.

New Steam Standard?
Just caught this video from a recent Sauna Day customer showing the steam room and saunas at @Roshelle Ritzenthaler’s new Madison hot spot. So many things to discuss here but the Hammam style steam room really jumped out at me… anyone seen anything like this before in North America? Wow, suddenly really looking forward to my next college reunion in Madison! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPRofw3EaEN/?igsh=MTk3Y2kybHY5NzVrNA==
