Alright Digi Fam…
Since we’re in Storytelling Week, I want to call out a few mistakes I see when creators start generating AI commercials including myself before I understood structure.
These are the things that separate cool AI clips from actual commercials.
1️⃣ Jumping Straight to Tools 🙄
The first question is always:
“What prompt did you use?”
“What tool made this?”
But the real magic is structure first!
Commercials follow a simple rhythm:
Hook → Product → Payoff
Without that structure, the video may look good… but it won’t feel like an ad.
2️⃣ No Clear Objective 🚫
Some commercials look cinematic, but we don’t know what they’re for.
Is it:
• Selling a product
• Introducing a brand
• Driving traffic
Every real commercial starts with one clear objective.
3️⃣ Too Much Going On 🤔
AI tools make it easy to generate amazing visuals. But the most effective commercials are usually simple.
Three strong shots will outperform ten random ones.
Simple wins.
