I did another revision on one of my very first drawings with a different reference photo and color palette. I'm really happy with how it turned out and seeing my progress. My first drawing took around 20-30 minutes to do, including planning. This time it took maybe about 2-2.5 hours and the extra time really shows.
I also discovered some neat tools that really made a difference. The first tool is a grid maker, which breaks my image down to any size squares that I want. This is great for helping me stay on track and focus on a square at a time while I'm still learning. There are a lot of grid makers either online or in app form and are mostly free.
I also got a color and palette picker to help me pick out the colors being used. This is a great tool to help me identify which colors are being used in a photo if there are a lot of colors going on and I feel overwhelmed. I don't really adhere to it and sometimes I'll choose something different but it's been great in helping me identify colors.
