TUE 10th — Editing Tip Tuesday ✂️✨: Cut the Clutter
Sometimes a sentence isn’t weak — it’s just wearing too many coats 🧥🧥🧥
✳️Today’s tip:cut the extra words that don’t ‘really’ do much.
Watch out for little clutter magnets like:👀 very, really, quite, just, started to, there is, there are 👀
Example:
🔸Before: There are many writers who really struggle with this.
🔸After: Many writers struggle with this.
Cleaner. Sharper. Less waffly 😄
Try it with one of your own sentences and pop it in the comments if you like👇
Or tell us: what word or phrase do you overuse and secretly need to evict? 🚪
