Welcome to the Wild Classroom 🌴
Hello! My name is Rose & I’ve spent over 25 years teaching science to all age groups, participating in co-ops, conducting homeschool evaluations, & teaching my own children. Through it all, one truth has stayed clear: learning doesn’t turn on & off — it’s happening all the time! The Wild Classroom exists to help families of all kinds: - See learning everywhere — in nature, at home, and in everyday life - Feel confident guiding science and curiosity-based learning - Reduce stress and pressure around “doing enough” - Trust that curiosity leads to meaningful understanding This is a calm, supportive space — there’s no comparison, no perfection, & no judgment here. To keep it that way, we don’t allow self-promotion, service offers, or unsolicited DMs. 👉 Please introduce yourself below: - Your name - Your children’s ages - One thing your child is naturally curious about right now I’ll respond personally & welcome you to the community. I’m excited to learn alongside you! Warmly, Mrs. Rose 🐬

Happy Labor Day Weekend, Wild Classroom Families 🍔
TGIF, Wild Classroom families! 😀
It's time to enjoy the weekend! Put the lesson plans down. Take a walk. Find a shell. Listen to the birds chirp. Let the kids be a little wild. I started off my day with a glimpse of one of our amazing backyard visitors - a yellow-crowned heron! Weekend CTA: Drop a pic in the comments of your homeschool chaos or your weekend reset — books on the table, nature finds, backyard science, or “we survived week one” smiles. We want to see it! Cheering you on from the wild side 🐾

Happy Friday, Wild Classroom friends! 🌿
Getting ready for the new homeschool year… is this you right now? Arms full of books, science kits everywhere, nature journals mixed with half-finished plans, and that slightly panicked “I can organize this… right?” look? 😆 Have you already started lessons, or are you (like so many of us) waiting until after Labor Day while still trying to create some kind of system? 📚 I’m hosting a relaxed 30-minute Homeschool / Science Q&A next Friday afternoon — drop your preferred times in the comments so we can find one that works! ⏱️ Looking forward to hearing from you (and seeing your own beautiful messes). Welcome to the wild side of homeschooling! 🐾

Curriculum Choices Don’t Have to Be Perfect 📚
Hello Everyone! One of the biggest questions I hear this time of year is “Which science curriculum should we use?” I remember searching the web for hours looking at different curriculum companies & still questioning my choices ... 😕 Here’s the gentle truth: there isn’t one right answer. Some families love a structured program. Others do best with a loose framework + lots of real-life exploration. Many of us mix both. What matters most is that it fits your kids and your energy. I have two boys - completely different in their learning styles and likes - but we made it work! If you’re weighing options right now, feel free to share what you’re considering (or what has worked for you in the past). This community is a great place to swap real experiences—no sales pitches, just honest parent talk. I'll be sharing some our families choices too!!
