I Just Went Full Fortress Mode
I bought three YubiKeys today. One for my laptops in my office. One for my cellphones—always with me. One locked in a fireproof safe at home. I’m not paranoid. I’m strategic. When you teach cybersecurity, when you speak openly about threats, when you show nurses how to protect themselves—you become a target. I know what hackers can do. I lost 13,000 followers in December 2025. Seven years of work, gone. I refuse to let that happen again. YubiKeys are phishing-resistant hardware security. Even if someone gets my password, they can’t get into my accounts without physically touching my key. No SMS codes to intercept. No authenticator app to compromise. Just cryptographic proof that I am who I say I am. Here’s what I’m protecting: • My nursing license—worth $10-15 million in lifetime earnings • My community—this space, your trust, our work together • My voice—the platform I’ve rebuilt from nothing • My peace of mind—I sleep better knowing I’m defended I’m sharing this not to brag, but to normalize what protection actually looks like. It’s not perfect. It’s layered. It’s intentional. If you’re being outspoken about anything that matters—your work, your truth, your expertise—you need to lock it down. Not someday. Now. What I’m doing this week: • Registering all three keys to every critical account (password manager first, then email, social, banking) • Keeping one key with me, one in the office, one in the safe—so I’m never locked out • Documenting which accounts have YubiKey enabled (the key doesn’t remember, I do) Your license. Your income. Your reputation. One breach could cost you everything. This is how you protect it. Drop a 🔐 if you’re taking your security seriously this year. And if you need help figuring out where to start, I’m here. We protect each other. —💙 Nurse Ashley #Unhackable #ReclaimRootRise #DigitalSovereignty
