So what’s a non bedside role? is happening in 18 days
Pinned
Hi! A little bit about it myself
I am Yuri, a registered nurse who left bedside in 2018 and spent the years since on the other side of healthcare, the side most of us do not get exposed to. I am not a coach who read a book about nursing. I did the night shifts. I felt the same trapped feeling you are feeling now, the one where you are good at the job and slowly disappearing into it. I left, figured out what else a nurse can actually do, and have spent years since helping other nurses do the same through The Unconventional Nurse (IG: @the.unconventional.nurse). This community is that work with the door open and me in the room. No selling you a dream. Just the honest map, and someone who has walked it answering your real questions. Looking forward to everyone’s sharing and experiences!

Welcome to The Unconventional Nurse Community 👋
If you've been following TUN on Instagram for a while, you'll know that some of the best conversations happen in the comments, in the DMs, and in our Telegram group. The problem is they disappear and get buried. Someone asks a great question about career pivots. Twenty people respond with genuine insight. And three days later it's buried and gone like it never happened. That's why this space exists. This is where the conversations get to live. Organised by topic, searchable, and built so that a nurse finding TUN for the first time in six months can still benefit from what was discussed today. What you'll find here: — Career pivot discussions and real talk about non-bedside roles — Honest conversations about burnout, purpose, and figuring out what's next — Resources, frameworks, and tools to help you navigate your nursing career — A community of nurses who get it because they're living it too No toxic positivity. Just nurses being honest with each other. This is still early and we're building it together. So if there's a topic you want a dedicated thread for, drop it below. Let's build this around what you actually need. Glad you're here. 🤍 — Yuri, The Unconventional Nurse

Free PDF: 10 Non-Bedside Nursing Careers You Should Know About 📄
If you're curious about what's out there beyond the ward ,this is a good place to start. I put together a free guide covering 10 non-bedside nursing roles that most nurses have hardly been told about. What each role involves, what background helps, and where to start looking. To get it, just sign up for the free TUN Insider newsletter, my fortnightly newsletter where I write about nursing careers, burnout, and the stuff nobody talks about in handover. Sign up here !

Our first live session is happening this month!
Wanted to give you a heads up! we’re running our first live session at the end of June. Topic: Non-bedside nursing roles. What they actually are, what they pay, and how nurses with no extra qualifications are already doing them. If you’ve ever Googled “what can nurses do besides bedside” and got a list that made no sense , this is for you. Date: 25 June Time: 11am (GMT +8). Drop a comment if you’re in so I know how many to expect.

What nursing school never taught us
What's one thing nursing school never prepared you for? Not clinically. Life as an actual working nurse; including the politics, the burnout, the career decisions nobody warned you about. Drop it below. Let's make the list they should've given us on day one.
