The Why
I’ve been asked, “Why The Transition Zone?” For me, it comes down to the methods I believe in—whether that’s ski racing, endurance sport, or just life. In ski racing, the transition is the moment between the end of one turn and the beginning of the next. It’s where you can reset, realign, and re-engage. It’s an opportunity to re-establish your line, your turn shape, your setup, and your balance. In triathlon, it’s the moment you switch from one sport to another. Your mindset shifts, your muscle groups change, and the demands of the race change. It’s a short window to catch your breath, refocus, and commit to the next stage of the event. And in life, we’re always transitioning—night to day, home life to work life, social time to personal time. We move through different stages, often without even noticing. So, like skiing, triathlon, and life, The Transition Zone exists to help us make the adjustments required to become more efficient, more competitive, and more confident on our chosen path.
