Tech Hurdles...

Hi all, so I have everything worked out for my first podcast. I bought one of the recommended mics, the Audio Technica, and loaded up Descript - and then nothing worked. Descript kept crashing, and then when it finally loaded, it doesn't recognize my iPhone camera, it just wants to record with my laptop webcam. I thought I'd pivot and just film with my iPhone, but the external mic won't connect to my camera with its current cables - it has to plug into a computer. So... I asked Google what to do and just ordered an adapter that should let the mic connect to my phone... but I'm not a very tech-oriented person and I feel like I'm flailing; getting further from where I want to be - which is some sort of simple recording set-up. I thought the mic was plug-and-play? Why doesn't Descript work with my iPhone camera? So many questions... However, and more importantly, happy almost new year everyone!!
